![]() ![]() ![]() I think anyone, but specifically Americans, would argue that Nike is a trusted brand. A long lasting brand is one that requires trust from the consumer. He recalls the fact that Nike’s success was directly embedded in telling the truth. In today’s society, we have come to the conclusion that oftentimes the people that make it big in the world are the ones that have to cheat and lie to get there. This theme is the idea of telling the truth. I enjoyed the book in general, however, there is one very specific theme that I feel is special and adds an incredible amount of influence to the book. In this inspiring memoir, readers learn about Knight’ successes, failures, and triumphs that led him to where he is now. However, Phil Knight, who of course now is a billionaire, tells his story of creating Nike from the ground up into the shoe empire it is today. This is not typically my genre of choice, and if I am being honest, I had never even heard the name “Phil Knight” before picking up Shoe Dog. Shoe Dog, written by Phil Knight, was quite unlike most books I have read before. ![]()
